Although this book has lots of puzzles they are very small (6 to an 8x10 page). I would not have purchased if that had been detailed in the description. I prefer one large puzzle to a 5x7 page. Maybe my husband will like it. I don’t.
For the difficult puzzles, I like to write in the possible number options. The numbers have to be written very small to do that with this book. They fit six puzzles on each 8.5 X 11 page. Worse, the answers page is so small - 24 per page - that unless you have very young eyes, you're going to have trouble checking your work.
There's more positive than negative about this book, so let me start off with things that could have been better, then I'll sing the praises of the company.The instructions discouraged penciling in, which means writing tiny letters in the corner of boxes where you would guess a number belongs, but don't have solid proof. It's a guess. As someone who has played Sudoku for a while, I was able to ignore this, but a new player may struggle to solve puzzles from fear of guessing.However, this book was well worth the money, with 330 easy, 342 medium, and 330 hard, you'll be busy for the entire year. The easy puzzles take about 3-5 min, and the medium require minimal guesswork. The hard ones truly are difficult, but not so much so that you want to scream. In short, it's a great choice for someone just starting off, though maybe not for very experienced players. I fall in the former category, so it worked out.Some people were upset that there were six puzzles per page, but if there were less, this book would be incredibly bulky. The book is also a few inches wider and and taller than a composition notebook, so there's enough room to easily focus on one puzzle at a time, but just be careful.All in all, I like this book because there are plenty of puzzles and I can use the easy ones at night when I'm tired or to teach friends how to play. Well done, Funster!
If you are into Sudoku puzzles, then this is the book for you. It really gives you a challenge and it is so much fun. The more puzzles you solve the more you want to solve more puzzles. I love this book and I would order it again.
This is a huge collection pf puzzles. Easys are easy, mediums provide a fair challenge, and some of the hards are sadistic. I've had to 'cheat' with a sudoku solver to get hints occasionally on the hard ones, but overall I can figure them out and enjoy taking the time to puzzle through them. It's a little difficult working in the book since I prefer to work each numbered puzzle by difficulty (easy medium hard puzzle 1, then 2 etc) so I'm constantly flipping around. The book binding is holding up well and with 1000 puzzles it will take me a while to get through it. I wanted a huge tome of puzzles when I bought this book but next time I'd probably opt for a large print option. I have a couple other Funster large type formats and they are easy to work in the books.
I purchased this for an adult that has just gotten out of the hospital. She was very happy and excited to have something to do while she recovered.
Such great puzzles, I bought this twice so I could do them all again. The easy ones are great for beginners or if you just want a relaxing quick break. The medium are not too easy, not too difficult, a little challenging. The hard ones are a challenge but are solvable with some patience and effort. Lots of puzzles, perfect sized grids, this one gets all the stars.
I like the puzzles, but really hate the set up. 6 puzzles on 1 page is a lot and can make it difficult to focus on just 1 puzzle. I rather the book be smaller, but thicker. :/
