If you're looking at this product, it's probably because it's a required text for a college course and this review does not matter. You are going to buy it regardless. Still, I will offer some insight. This book is similar in many ways to other ethics textbooks and presents basically an introduction to ethics with a criminal justice slant. I used this in a graduate course and actually ENJOYED the textbook, especially the introductions with real-life examples of ethically dilemmas and the various scenarios scattered throughout the book.

This book is very thorough about the ethical and moral considerations and decision making processes involved in criminal justice. It has a thorough index; however, if you are reading it as text for a testable class, I recommend indexing the book yourself as you read. I index mine and include all bolded words, all sources, all names, institutions, cases, all lists, and diagrams etc. This is especially helpful in an open book testing environment. I have yet to make below a 95 on a test because of my index, even when unable to fully read the chapter. Once you have the index, you can print it out or, if you can use it in electronic copy, use ctrl+f to search for keywords. I'm 75% through the book and have only had to use the actual index 2-3 times. It does include a traditional index, names index, and case index.

I bought this as supplemental reading for a criminal justice class and I absolutely loved it! I love this way this author writes and in comparison to the required text, it went a lot further into detail on certain things. More laid back writing style, but a lot of emphasis on theories. I still love the subheading for one of the sections "First, let's kill all the lawyers!" With that one line, I started laughing and my affection for this book was sealed. Obviously, I don't believe that...and neither does the author. The author was just playing off of the general consensus of the US's view on attorneys.

Required reading for my Criminal Justice Ethics course. A good resource, but I don't love the format with the little side boxes, and it's very small print for those of us who aren't 18 any more!

Excellent text for the class I was taking. Pollock's views and cites of other prominent Law Enforcement and research sources are outstanding. I got a lot from this book combined with the Criminal Justice Ethics class. Even if this is not the text for your ethics class or you just need it to re-energize yourself in your career, I would recommend it.

OMG...seriously this book!!! I fell hard and fast for Make Me Yours! Everything about it. It just made me feel good. Well, not always. There were a few moments I wanted to throat punch a few people, but then Remi would do something super swoony and those people were quickly forgotten.Remi was unapologetic in his pursuit of Ruby and boy oh boy was that sexy AF! A man who goes after what he wants? Yes, please! Ruby was sassy and confident, yet a bit insecure. The connection these two had from the start was intense. I love what these two characters brought out in one another!Ruby's bond with Remi's precious daughter Lillie was absolute perfection!If you are looking for a book that is low on the drama and high on the sweet and sexy, then this is definitely your book. It is a must read!

Omg this books gives me all the feels. Remi & Ruby will definitely pull on your heartstrings but Lillie is a show stopper. Beautifully written and once you start reading you won’t want too stop. From page one I was hooked and the ending, perfection. Tia has become an author that no matter what she writes, I’ll always one click and never be disappointed. Truly an amazing read that will have tears in tour eyes and also a smile on your face. Another 5 Star read that everyone must read.

“Make Me Yours” is a story full of passion, humor and romance that reaches into your heart and makes you glad to be alive. Tia Louise has written a very special book that made me laugh and smile and wish that every family could be blessed with someone as wonderful as Ruby. She brought love and happiness to Remi and Lillie and filled his heart with hope for the future.Ruby is a smart and independent woman who is also a devoted daughter and talented artist. She thought that working for Remi would be a good way to save money so she could decide what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. Remi is sexy and handsome, and the best father to his adorable, precocious daughter. Ruby bonded with Lillie from the moment they met over their love of Disney songs. She realized right away that Lillie needed to be herself so that her true personality could shine through. Ruby also knew that spending too much time with Remi was the wrong thing to do, even when it felt so right.Remi had been in a dark place for a long time and sometimes he felt that he would never crawl out of it. A chance meeting with Ruby changed his life and gave him the strength to get back to work and enjoy each day to the fullest. Even if that meant having Ruby under his roof, with her beautiful smile and infectious personality. He was having a hard time keeping his hands to himself, but did he really want to?Are Ruby, Remi and Lillie destined to be a family or does something happen to burst their bubble of happiness?

This book is phenomenal!! Gives you all the feels!! Ruby and Remi- amazing together!! And sweet Lillie just adds to the beauty of this book!I love the moral battle they are fighting themselves. It’s not rushed, they want to do the right thing but they really care for each other, there is kindness and compassion.... so good!! And Lillie is always their priority!!Ruby wants to be independent- love this line:“Maybe I do want to be a part of their life, but I want to be independent first. I want to make the choice.” She is so kind with Lillie, I love their relationship!Remi- he’s broken, loyal, so drawn to Ruby but always is thinking of Lillie!!It’s sweet, steamy, has great supporting characters, it has amazing little details that fill your heart, full of conflict but it comes out of love. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made my heart whole! Tia Louise did such an amazing job with this book! For sure a top 2019 read for me because I just feel so good at the end of it!! Written with alternating dual POV, Make Me Yours is a single dad romance and it was undeniably entertaining. Something about the way Tia Louise writes a romance just sucks you right into her stories. I am not usually a huge single parent romance fan but sometimes they are done right and that’s the case with Make Me Yours. Tia balanced out the single parent responsibilities with a relationship between Remi and Ruby that was a little taboo—he hires her to be his daughter’s Nanny—and such close contact really allowed the fires to be stoked between Remi and Ruby. The tension between them was delicious and this slow burn romance really sucked me in. Reminiscent of a Disney fairytale, Ruby is swept off her feet by her own personal Prince Charming, and what a beautiful ride this story took us on. The characters were believable and while the book was a quick and easy read, Ruby and Remi had layers to them that unfolded perfectly. I loved watching them come together as a couple and vanquishing their own dragon, in this case Remi’s mother-in-law (from his first marriage). I realized in that moment… I am different.Ruby is fiercely independent, and she has her own unique style. She’s not a follower. She’s not a member of the herd. She doesn’t seem to want anything from me other than honest work, and she’s amazing with my daughter.…when I see her, emotion hits me hard in the chest. My feelings for her have grown so strong over the past week and a half. I don’t want her to date Henry. I want her to stay here with me.
