I don’t read very many books written by male Authors but H. L. Wegley is an exceptional Author. It seems he just keeps getting better with every book he writes. This one has it all; suspense, romance, humor and Faith in God woven throughout the book. After Allies’s father is shot she is on the run from the killer who wants her to be next. With the help of the son of her dad’s best friend, Grady, she is on a cross country trip, all the while trying to dodge a killer. Wegley’s books are all highly researched and this one is no exception. You can tell that he writes with firsthand knowledge and experience. I recommend this book highly and I am sure you will enjoy it. This book was given to me by the author/publisher with no requirement for a review. All views are my very own.

I think it’s the best one I’ve read of this author. I loved the storyline and the Journals that tell a story. Allie and Grady are two people traveling together and discovering the truth together about her father. The story of Grady’s father and Allie’s father is so good and I loved the way the story is told as they travel from Virginia to Washington. I’m from Indiana and it was fun to read about them coming thru my state.You will love this book!

Oh what a super great book. Brought back some memories of the Reagan years I had totally forgotten. Very well written with a fabulous story line. Edge of your seat thrilling ride. Highly recommend. I received a copy from the author. Opinions are my own.

Just as with his other books, I connected with these characters right away and could barely put the book down. Suspense, twists and turns, happy ending. Loved it!

This book is a must have for USMLE Step 1 Prep. If you plan on getting this book the last 2 weeks prior to steps, don't bother. However if you get this book early on and start using it on a regular biases for lecture and cross reference topics or need further clarifications or to look at cases. This is your book.I would use this with the First Aid and use the case files in the end of the chapters and the bold highlighted topics of each chapter as mental maps. Should you hit upon a topic you're not familiar with look it up!USMLE will test you're ability to understand topics and incorporate them into clinical situations.

The authors introduce new topics, then give explanations a page later making for a very frustrating read. The text is overly specific and at the same time; it feels rushed and vague.

For the MSN nurse, a required reading at most colleges, but it's approach was well planed. Each chapter's end ties directly into the next chapter to read. Very systematic with great case studies.

Great resource, book arrived in good condition and was useful in my class. I had enough time to complete the course before I had to return the text book.

Not required in my FNP program. Got this as an additional resource. I've found it useful. One of my favorite go-to books for school.

Concise and a very good primer in pathophysiology. Though for more detailed description you should dig a bit deeper in more specialized textbooks.

I like this book better than Heuther, both if which are required. It goes into more detail on the cellular level.

Came in impeccable condition. Bought it as a gift for someone who loves it!

I liked this book, but found it a bit light in several ways. It was very short, and there's not much you can do in the retelling of a Greek myth - or at least so the author found. So, why a book?

Though ignorant of its overwhelming beauty and truth, enough of this book's value was apparent from reviews that I would have read it many years before I did had it not been for one fatal word in its subtitle: "gay." Whether its deployment is a genuine detraction from the author's otherwise profound understanding and appreciation of the beauty and ethos of Greek love or whether it is a sad concession to the social correctness currently necessary for commercial success, unfortunately it matters.However, let me first acknowledge this book's virtues, all that qualify it as an extraordinarily beautiful work of the most profound intellectual and aesthetic importance. Despite all one might fear about a work characterising an ancient phenomenon by an anachronistically extremely modern and different one, the contents are entirely faithful in spirit and beauty to the euphoria and extreme human success enabled for tragically too few centuries by an unrivaledly beneficent but now tragically misunderstood form of love. It is no mean feat to achieve this, when not only the spirit of our age militates against it, but the original sources are often profoundly contradictory, their reconciliation requiring considerable understanding and insight. Mr.Calimach has resolved all this most convincingly, for which reasons his book can and should be enjoyed by all.To try to get an idea why calling these myths gay is so critically misrepresentative, let us imagine what would happen if Zeus were to appear today and hear Mr. Calimach call him gay. Always concerned about mortal impiety towards the gods, he would naturally make enquiries as to what gay meant. He would be merely baffled by the notion he had been born unchangeably fixed in an attraction to males that made him one of a distinct minority, knowing as he did that all that mattered about the mortals that caught his eye was their beauty and not whether they were women or boys. Confusion would change to revulsion though when he heard gays were turned on by men. Fury would begin to arise when he heard most gays joining the cacophany of voices rabidly denouncing the love of boys, and it would explode when he heard them fiercely asserting that gay relationships were equal and that by imputation he was believed to swap roles when in bed with Ganymede. Then thunderbolts would be unleashed and I fear Mr. Calimach would find no place safe to hide. No amount of pleading the undoubted merits of his book would save him in even the depths of Hades, and he would soon find himself eternally and unfairly consigned to the terrible chamber therein named Tartaros.Edmund Marlowe, author of Alexander's Choice, a modern Greek love story, www.amazon.com/dp/1481222112

This is a neat little book that presents a selection of the Greek myths, many of them familiar, only this time with formerly expurgated "gay" material put back in. The stories have been put together by a man named Andrew Calimach, who apparently dug through tons of original Greek tales to find the material which has so often been "neutered" or rewritten so it's de-emphasized.The varying stories were then pieced together in what are some really wonderful myths -- wonderful in and of themselves and wonderfully written. The book is also illustrated throughout with original ancient artwork, so you can see the various gods, nympths, goddesses and mortals the stories revolve around. In the stories you'll see Zeus & Ganymede, Hercules & Hylas, Apollo & Hyancinthus, Narcissues, and (for you fans of Troy) Achilles & Patroclus, among others.Here's a little excerpt from the Achilles & Patroclus story, which takes place during the Trojan War:Noble Achilles, the fiercest of the Greek fighters, led the troops headlong into battle, like some savage beast unleashed, and his dear friend, Patroclus, fought always by his side, tempering Achilles' wildness and pride with loving sound advice...[Then later after Patroclus has been killed on a mission]...the Greeks broke away the broken corpse to Achilles' lodge. Black grief crushed Achilles, his eys brimmed with endless tears. He threw himself upon Patroclus' body, full of reproaches for throwing his life away. "Why so ungrateful, after all our kisses? Why so uncaring for the holy union of our thighs?" He mourned without let, forgetting sleep, forgetting food and drink, and day after day put off the funeral, unable to part with his friend.

Here are nine classic Greek Mythical tales that have been restored and retold exposing for the first time the love between men in early times. Only these are no ordinary men but the Greek Gods and heroes we thought we all knew. Though I'm not an historian or scholar with a gifted knowledge of Greek Myths or legends, I found this book to be fascinating, exciting, and informative, as well as easy to read. It's a fine collection of male love stories from the early writings of Greek Myths. This is a beautifully designed book, from it's cover to it's dust jacket. It's enhanced with black and white photos included in each chapter, displaying appropriately related classical Greek sculpture and art.Andrew Calimach says he has carefully restored these stories from the primary sources, completing the missing myths from scattered fragments. Whatever research was required to honestly restore these Greek Myths, we are the fortunate ones for these tales are lovingly translated. There's the tale of Hercules and Hylas; a classic coming of age tale; Achilles and Patroclus, a tale of deep love between two courageous warriors, and my favorite Narcissus, a handsome youth who spurns the love of another... These are just three of the touching tales that Calimach has brought to light in this fine collection.This is a book that the specialist, academic, or ordinary reader can enjoy. These are fascinating legends with a different focus centering on male love that will keep you reading way past the midnight hour.
